Saying "I DO!"

button
So I'm doing something I rarely do.....LINKING UP! I actually love linking up and finding new blogs to read, but sometimes it's hard to find the time between two babies, school and work. But the babies are in bed,  I have put in my time this week for school and the hubs is out watching Game 7 so I got the evening to myself.

A little background for you first.
So Babe's(this is really our name for each other) and I had been together for two years when he purposed. I had moved to his hometown with him just nine months before. Why I moved off with a guy without a ring first is beyond me. I'm sure my parents were praying every night.

We had a semi-rocky start. He was a college kid when we met and had trouble committing and we broke things off for a while before we got together for good. We got engaged in September and set the date for May 15, 2005!

Now let me just say that we were very broke when we got married. And yet, I still tried to plan some big elaborate affair! I really am not sure what I was thinking. Should have taken the little bit of money I got and put it with our down payment on the house but alas I did not.

Right before I walked down the aisle!
The fountain outside the reception.
You can probably guess what's going on. :) look how young I am! Oh what eight years and two babies can do to a girl!

Location: A small church in an older neighborhood. I wanted outside but the hubs being the ever pessimist that he is worried about rain and heat and any other thing mother nature might throw at us. Just for the record, that is so him and he's still like that to this day. He loves to be the rain on my parade. Anyhoo, when we found this church we loved the size of it. We were only inviting about 100 people and that approximately what this church fit. So perfect. The reception was scheduled at a banquet hall downtown. It was awesome because you could have anywhere cater and it had an outside 'park' that was lite with a fountain. Beautiful. My father-in-law who was a funeral director at the time used one of the funeral home limos to drive us from the church to the reception. Now when your poor this is a great idea. But looking back now, a little weird.

Bridal Party: Ha! I really have to laugh when I look back on this part. My sweet BF tried to tell me the dress were ugly but I thought I was doing them a favor by finding something that wasn't $200!! But yes, the were horrendously ugly and a wretched shade of pink. I loved the colors: pale pink and black. But the dresses were just so horrible-color and all. I'm so sorry ladies that I made you were them.

First Dance Song: Etta James "At last". I'm really not sure why we choose this song. I think I heard it a few times in planning the wedding and decided it would work. I'm not disappointed in the choice-it's a beautiful song, but if I had to do it over i would probably go with the song I had always wanted to dance to, Vince Gill's "Just look at us". Not sure why I decided against it then. Maybe I'll have a vow renewal and play it then.

Honeymoon: Nothing at all I regret here! We went to Rivera Maya, Mexico to a all-inclusive resort for seven day and it was bliss! Couples massages, horseback riding on the beach, too much food, even more liquor(in room liquor dispenser!). This was Babe's mom's gift to us(and a partial down payment on a house) so we got to splurge a little. I'm a total beach girl so I wouldn't change this. Unless she had given us 10,000, which in that case I would've booked a trip to Bora, Bora. Maybe for the 10 year. Hey look, a second reason for a vow renewal!

So, do I regret anything?  Eh, Maybe. It was fun. We danced and partied for five hours. If I was planning now I would definetly do a beach wedding. And if it wasn't a beach wedding, it would be smaller than what I did. I probably would only have my sister as a bridesmaid and I would go for something outside in the fall. I also would have a change of dress into something a little more casual(but still glamourous, I am still a girl) to party in. One biggie....I would hire a professional photographer. Worst mistake, EVER! I wish I had better pictures to show the kids when there older. But it is what it is. We had a great time parting with people we are still friends with today and that I do LOVE!

It's getting late So I will check in later, lovelies!

Sigh.....

As much as I love my husband and my kids sometimes I wish I could go back to simpler times. So hard for me to say that. I just don't get how some people do it and seem so normal. Are they lying to everyone?!! It just gets so hard trying to stay above water. And I'm not talking financially(although, sometimes that happens). I just mean taking care of two babies and keeping a house clean and laundry done and figuring out what you'll make for dinner and really, the list keeps going. And to top it off, I am the by far the world's biggest stress eater!! So yes, I've gained five lbs and can't remove them and that's with crazy amounts of exercise!!
See the bloat around the middle? Ugh. Got to get off the sugar and carbs! I used to have the tiniest, like, tiny, tiny waist. Always had the hips, those didn't change much but I miss my waist. Will it come back eventually?? Or is this what two kids in sixteen months does to you?!

And continuing with the stress theme, see this adorable face?? Well he told me he wanted some more cereal yesterday so I asked him to bring me his bowl. He brought back a completely empty bowl. If you have a 2yo you know that's not good. So I go in search of the missing milk and cereal......
Yes, that's my sofa. Just for the record he eats at his little table which is by the sofa.

Sorry to have made this post such a whine fest. Next time we'll make it a 'wine fest' instead! Later luvs!

Sometimes I just shouldn't......

Ok, let me start off by telling my dinner story from last night. Sometimes I wonder why I try. Wednesday night before class I made a meatloaf. Put it in the fridge so hubby could stick in the oven and it would be done when I got home. But I forgot to tell him to put said meatloaf in the oven. So it sat in the fridge overnight and we had Taco Bueno. In hind sight, I think that's what I was wanting to happen. HeHe. So Thursday, I stick the meatloaf in the oven because I do not like to waste food. But apparently it had been sitting too long because it was mush. I tried to make sloppy joes out of it but it just wasn't working. The hubs compared it to dog food but he's really picky so I don't think his opinion should count. ;)

On another note I did officially started back to class this week. Taking  Biology with Lab. Kinda nervous about it, it being my first lab and a summer course but I'm am determined to do this. I've decided to do nursing so I may become a little crabby on my bloggy here. That's ok, right??

I know I haven't talked about fitness all that jazz in awhile. I've been running like a bear is chasing me in the woods but just not talking about it. I have managed to get to 152(back up to 155 this morning but I know it's water :)). I've kinda hit a plateau though it this seems to be normal for me when I get to the bottom of the tens(does that make sense). It's like I have to work twice as hard just to get to the next tens but then I can go back to my not so hard schedule and still lose weight. SOOOO FRUSTRATING!! I'm am happy to say that even though I'm still in the 150's I'm wearing things I haven't worn since I weighed about 140-145. So I guess I'm doing something right!
And just for random pictures sake here is me and Lil in our matching hot pink outfits. I couldn't get her to put the bottle down for five seconds to take a pic. I'm loving being able to wear my old clothes again! It's not a great pic of them but these are my favorite jeans from Guess. I love the way they fit!

I'll try to find something more interesting to talk about tomorrow! I know there somebody out there reading this thing! Much love!

Weekend Update

Hello Everybody! After a long week with sick babies and then a sick mommy I got to have a wonderful night out with the hubs and friends. Let me start by saying what hell I had to go through to get to Saturday night though.

Wednesday morning both babies woke up with fever. Lillian is now One and this has never happened yet. We always go through the 'one has it, gives it to the other, gives it to the other, gives it to the other'....I mean seriously I could continue on that. I'm sure you know the feeling if you have kids. So we go on through the day with them fighting over who gets the center of mama's lap and one kid crying cause the other kid won out. In the middle of the nap they took turns vomiting on me. Four times I changed clothes. The house was a disaster and smelled worse. I cleaned the best I could but this mama was tired and woke up Friday feeling like crap and running fever. And I still had to take care of babies. Saturday morning I was going to work whether my clients wanted me there or not.
I just could not handle another day at home. OMG I love those babies, but at that moment to keep loving them I needed an adult night with LOTS of tequila!

So mama-in-law kept the kids and we went out for a friends birthday. We been friends since I moved here to Central Arkansas but since I've had the kids I don't get to see much of her. But she is due in October and I couldn't be happier. Hoping now that we both have kids we hang out more. Unfortunately, that's just how things go.
Me and ta BD girl
and below, the gang I get shit-faced the most with.

Yes, I'm wearing hot pink skinnies. I bought these at Kohl's and loved them but was way too scared to wear them. They sat in my closet for a month with the plan to return them. Then I seen a post from Laura at Walking in Memphis In High Heels and decided to go for it. Since following her blog I really have wanted to be more out there with fashion. I used to love to get dressed up but having two babies really reaked havoc on my self-esteem and body. But I never want to be a frumpy mom. Life is too short for that. So I put those hot pink pants on and strutted myself into the restaurant. And yes, I got some looks. But that's ok, I'm happy I did it. I really am excited to wear them again! So later homeslices! Hope ya'll had a great weeked!

Birthday Party and Update

So, I know I have been MIA lately. School has LITerally taken all my time. I swear(yes, I swear even though my mama told me not to) it was easier working 40 hours than taking 12 hours of school. Good news is I'm finishing up my final and will get a wonderful two week breather before I do it all again over summer. I will cherish those two weeks. So what else has been happening, you ask? Oh, there's nobody to ask? That's ok, I'll tell anyway since this is where I get to tell all those wonderful MOMents nobody else wants to hear about.

Miss Lil turned ONE!! Where did the time go?!! I swear just yesterday I was pushing her from my numb vagina!

Do I look happy? You better believe it. I was no longer pregnant. I know most women just Luuuvvv being pregnant. Not this gal. Yes, I love that baby and I would walk through a burning building to save her, but I absolutely hated being pregnant. I was miserable and my hormones were all over the place. I was always chasing a baby/toddler, working 4o hours and playing maid  at the same  time. If I could give up the latter two I could probably tolerate it a litte more. But then I would have to lose a hundred lbs afterwards. So it's probably just not wise to try it again. But I do love those babies.

So I wanted to put up so photos from her birthday party that I probably know I spent to much money on. Your little girl only turns one once, right?

Ballon wreath brought to you by Pinterest. Look it up, mmkkk. I did the cake or rather bought two round cakes, stacked them, and decorated. But in my opinion that's making the cake.  Ballon banner by some lady on Etsy. Theres you have it folks. By the time you add pizza my one year old had a $300 party. More than I've had. Anywhoo....

Thanks for stopping by again. Leave me a message if you come across my blog. I love hearing from people even if it's just stalking looking!

Spring Break Week

So spring break has been over for two weeks but I have been crazy busy since we got back. Unloading a week's worth of laundry for four people is no easy task. I had a great time hanging out with the fam but so times I wonder how worth it, it is! (I know, thats really sad) We had a great time in Branson. We ttok the kids tomSilver Dollar City. Not sure that was worth all the effort though. My sister Only had one free ticket so the hubs had to wait in line for almost an hour to get in. Which wouldn't have been horrible I'd we could have stayed long. But there were soooo many people there!! The lines were 30-40 people deep to get anything to eat not to mention that they don't make much room for strollers to get through! The worst of it though was the blizzard that was getting ready to come through. When we left on Monday morning it was still nice and the temps were suppose to be high 50's on that Wednesday. Well by Monday night the temps were slowing dropping and Tuesday there talking about This snow! What the hell?! So we still went out to the park but between the crowd(and no cell reception. Couldn't even text my family!) and weather only stayed a couple hours. I seriously didn't eat all day. But I made up for it at dinner. We did use the in door pool some which was nice. Miss L took to water great. I swear she was gonna kick herself at of my arms! Luke was the opposite never straying out of his daddy's arms. I swear that kid will jump from any height but he's afraid of water!! I am gonna post on my weight this week. I've come a long way since I posted two months ago! Ha!
