Trying to Keep Up

Oh my gosh! Life is so tiring as always! Miss L is getting her top teeth and possibly has a stomach virus and she is miserable! I am so so tired. She has been such a demon child clingy thing and exercising or doing any kind of school work is impossible. Oh, but I love that munchkin. Also, I  haven't had a chance to touch up on Luke. He was going through this phase where he maybe had half a box of raisins a day and basically was living off of  Pedisure and milk. Oh lord, that boy has been eating everything in sight the last few days. I've looked it up and it seems this is pretty common. Basically, the starve (not really) themselves for a few days and then stock up. Oh whatever! I'll take it. It is so nice to hear him ask for food again! So with that being said I'm so excited to post this pic!

This is me and my huney at two different weddings about 5 months apart. Can you tell the difference? We've both lost about 15 lbs. (yes I wore the same dress but I was not gonna spend another 75 bucks on a dress I don't plan on being able to wear ever again. plus it was two completely different groups of friends so nobody seen it twice!) The amazing thing is the difference  in my arms! I was really hating them, so I'm glad to see them get smaller cause I never really been able to lose weight there. I do plan to start lifting weights more to see if that helps with slimming them down. I'd love to have nice arms by summer! I tend to focus on legs a lot and I still want to do that. I just want to devote some time to my arms also.

Alright, so I'm really tired ready to roll in bed. I'll type some more up this week and hopefully L will be feeling better and will let me. Laters!

I'm a Stay-at-mom! Kinda.

Wow. I feel like I start all my posts with 'wow'. How does life get so crazy. Oh yeah, kids. Thing 1 and Thing 2 are officially keeping me busy. And drunk. Haha. Seriously though, sometimes when I'm home with both I wonder how horrible it is to start drinking vodka at 3? What if it's more sprite zero than vodka? No? Ok, guess its just me. But for realz, Thing 2 a.k.a. Miss Lillian is keeping me on my toes. She is officially a speedy crawler and is attempting to stand and walk. The dog bowls are her favorite things, ever! Ughhh. I remember this with the first one also and it lasted about 6-9 months. Dumping the water bowl then splashing in the water, eating dog food. My poor fur babies just look at me like 'again? Didn't we just get past this?' Yes girls, we did. I don't like it anymore than you do.
So, I'm a first time college student at 32. Yes, you read that right. It's actually what is keeping me so busy. I'm officially a SAHM M-F and go to school online and at night and work 9 straight hours on my feet on Saturday. But this is the reason I've not been writing much. I spend every napping minute doing homework. I'm very excited to be doing this, though. It's giving me a chance to be home more with my babies. Even if it does cause me to spend more money on vodka. :)
I have been able to run more since being home and I love that! I did 13 miles last week and got in about an 1 1/2 of strength training. Amazing for me. I haven't been able to devote this much time to working out since before the munchkins! I'd thinking of signing up for a 10k since to help motivate me more to lose weight or really since it just seems to be the 'in' thing right now. Still hesitant though. May think about some more first. And I'll leave you with a pic of me and Thing 2. I'm sans makeup but honestly, I probably will be a lot from now on. Get used to it.

Update

Wow. That sums it up in my book. So, I was doing so great on this 'diet'. I had lost 7 lbs in 10 days, I FELT great. I guess carbs really can make you feel tired and disgusting. Who would've guessed? HA! So, anyway, feeling great, blah, blah, blah and BAM! The flu (and strep throat) hit! OMG! I didn't eat for days. It was so miserable. I know I lost at least 5 lbs. All while laying around in bed. By Wednesday, I'm feeling better but seriously, who wants to eat grilled chicken and green beans when they haven't ate for days. Not this girl. So I tried to stay within a good calorie range but just ate whatever I wanted. We have sloppy joes and sour cream enchilidas and the best part, Saturday night I ordered a pizza. I haven't had pizza in weeks and it was delish. So I enjoyed a few days to get back to health and today I'm getting back to it. I weighed myself this morning and I was at 164. I believe this is what I was at the day before the flu hit so I'm pretty happy that I didn't necessarily "gain" weight. My goal is to get in a 3 mile run today. I have both babies home with me so we shall see. Also, a couple of weeks ago I tried to post some pics of me before babies. I know it seems really vain, but I need to see these to help me stay focussed and know I can look like that again and even better! Cause I honestly, I didn't eat that well back then. I ran alot but it was always so I could go out for margaritas and fajitas on Saturday night.
This is me and my huney in Jamaica about a year before I got pregnant. I probably weighed about 145 in the pics. I didn't diet much before we went just ran alot. Honestly, I'm not sure I even did that! HAHA! Anyway, I'll post more later. I have got to run errands now. Later! Angel

Day 8 and 9

Wow. Not really sure what to say. This 'diet' is amazing but also in a sense, it still.....sucks. I want to say I'm learning a healthy way of living, learning to live without sugar, or having unlimited amounts of carbs but alas, all I can think about is getting to the end of this 17 days and having a HUGE cheat day before I start the second cycle. Is this horrible? Everybody, even celebrities want cheats day, right? And right now, all I can think about is getting through this weekend without having pizza. I want pizza sosososo bad right now!! But, I think this is where it's helping. Remember what a sugaraholic I said I was? Well, except for maybe wanting something small here and there, it's surprisingly not what I'm wanting at the end of this 17 days. And this folks, is amazing. I have allowed myself to have a dark hersery kiss at the end of the night and I think this has helped. Allowing myself this small indulgence. So I thought about getting a pizza and just allowing myself to have a slice. I did allow myself to have some carbs on saturday and though I didn't lose weight I didn't gain any. So I guess I will just have to decide how worth it it is. Ughhh. Damn Decisions. Still deciding rather I should weigh myself in the morning or wait til Monday. Haven't decided yet so guess you'll find out later. On another note, my sweet little boy came home with fever today. Please pray it's not flu. I had it, Lillian's had it, and I just really hoped he had escaped it. It's probably going to be a long night for me so I should really get my ass in bed. Hate going to bed, hate getting up. Just doesn't make sense. Ughhh. Later chicas. Angel

Day 6

OK, so today is day 6 of hell no carbs. But the good news is I'm down 3.8 Lbs. I'd like to make it just one day a week of weighing myself, but I'm so impatient I just can't. The first few days were pretty hard. Especially Friday when a client brought me 3 dozen cookies from this amazing bakery here in central Arkansas. She brings them every year at Christmas time, but this year she didn't come till after NY's. That was a kicker right there but I did pretty well. I had half a no bake chocolate oatmeal on that day and the other half the next day. Then I split those lil' devils up and sent them home with some folks. Yay me! Then, Saturday night we had a little partee to attend. I did ok, but did give in to some chocolate pudding cake. Twice. It was taunting me the entire time I was there so I gave up and gave in. I did manage to stay away from the chips and other carbs on the table for the most part except for a few pita chips to have with my hummus. I can't turn away from pita chips and hummus. All in all though, I felt like I did really well. Sunday I got back on my game and started my morning with three scrambled eggs, a lite greek yogurt for lunch, a Think Thin protein bar for a snack and had turkey meatloaf with green beans for dinner. It was soooo good, to! So hoping I can continue this good phase and see the 150's in the next week or so. I have six lbs to go to get there. And as my motivation I was looking through some photos of me before baybees so I keep my eye on the prize. I'll leave you with a few of those. Also, I still plan to take some pics of one of my favorite bikins and post it to! ok, so I was going to leave you with pics, but somehow I've messed that up! Maybe next time! Later!

New year, new me!

Wow, so today I never got out of my pajamas. Please tell me that this is not a sign for the new year. Your suppose to spend new year's day in your pj's, right? It was a great day just for the simple fact that today was the first day in a week that I didn't wake at 6 needing ibuprofen or DayQuil to make it out of bed. Ughhh, I had the flu and it put me out! And having the flu while taking care of two babies is horrendous. So needless to say, but I will, I didn't feel like doing shit today. Even though I haven't done shit for a week. Me and the fam sat around in our pj's and took afternoon naps and just enjoyed the day.
And I enjoyed my last day of carbs for a couple of weeks. December was a huge carb month for me. I basically ate everything I wanted and just tried to maintain the weight I was at. Which I almost succeeded at. Lol. December is also a busy month for me at work so it left very little time for exercising. I did mange to get in about 9-10 miles a week, but the flu hit me Christmas night so I haven't done anything since the Sunday before. And I'll probably still need to do low impact for the next week or so, just so my lungs don't explode. But I'm looking forward to getting back to it. I was doing really well before thanksgiving and hoping I can see similiar results again. My mother-in-law did started the 17 day diet in sept/oct and lost 20 lbs in less than 2 months. Thinking about trying this. It basically teaches you to eat clean. I'm pretty good about eating healthy but I LOVE sugar. Like, I want to buy a cake from a bakery and sit and eat all of it, love. So, I really just to to cut it out all together and I'm hoping following this plan will work. I have about 25 lbs of baby fat left and i think it's time we parted ways. Last year we didn't take our boat out one single time cause this momma was not going close to a swimsuit area let alone putting one on. Lol. So my goal is to get my booty into a swimsuit I wore before Luke was born. I probably weighed about 142-145 or so then. I'll take some pics of these swimsuits I love and post later this week. Really looking forward to this and being able to update my progress along the way!

Christmas fun

So I meant to write on Friday and of course, never got around to it. I always get caught up in life. But Luke and Lillian had a Christmas party on Friday and went to school in their Christmas pj's. They were so cute. Luke had a little party and I, trying to be a great mom spent way too much money making little candy/toy bags for his home room class. We took a pic before they left. Luke is going through this 'I will not acknowledge the camera' phase and so every picture we have he is squirming, trying to get away. Except, occasionally he will participate and ham it up while screaming "cheeeesssee". So cute. (btw, all my pics will just be at the end of the post cause I'm on the iPad and cant figure out how to correct this)
I had to work on saturday so I started my Christmas vacation on sunday. Usually we are in Fayetteville the weekend before Christmas but this year we went up early since the hubs had to do some work there. It was so great to just relax and hang out with the kids. We did our Christmas, Christmas eve morning. I made us breakfast and we sat around and watched the kids open up their gifts(really only one can open, the other just eats the wrapping paper). Their big gift was a table with chairs. Luke didn't leave it all morning! He loves it! Even Lillian loved sitting there with her brother. They were so adorable. Then we just got Luke some Hot rod cars which, I am still having trouble believing he is old enough for Hot Rods! And Lillian some small stuff but not sure what there called.
That evening we went to Shane's grandpa's house for dinner. There was about 25 people there and everyone brought a dish. I made a 'Better than sex cake'. If you have never had this cake, look it up. It is so delicious!
After his grandpa's we headed to his momma's house. Which is where we've been since. We had a great morning of watching the kids open their (waytoomany) gifts before we had lunch. Actually, Luke opened everything. Including the adults gifts. And Lil sat in the middle of it watching (and eating, again). Shane's mom actually has lunch catered and it is soooo nice. It's all the typical southern food you have at Christmas. Honestly, I think I might suggest this for my family at thanksgiving next year. I love to cook but by the time you make food for 25 people and clean it up, your just exhausted.
So, anyway, we stayed at his momma's house that night and it ended up snowing almost 10 inches! That is a shit ton of snow for us! Last year we didn't even see a snowflake! Electricity is out in more than half the homes in central Arkansas including ours so we will just be staying here with the in-laws till it comes back on. If she doesn't kick us out first! Hahaha. No, seriously. Couple more days and she just might! So I leave you with some pics and I'll let you guess which days there from. Haha. Later, chicas!
